• New Meetings: If you are a new meeting, FWS has a New Meeting Literature Bundle. After purchasing, you may send your receipt to the LA intergroup for reimbursement.

• In-person rep announcement:  There’s a flyer [being passed around / on the table] with a QR code you can scan to join the speaker list and volunteer to speak at Los Angeles in-person or virtual meetings

The LA Intergroup’s Audio Library is available at slaalosangeles.org/audio and is filled with excellent speaker MP3s that you can listen to while traveling, away from Zoom or internet connection, etc. 

AUDIO LIBRARY

• I’ve received and uploaded 4 new audios in the past month.

• The Webmaster has streamlined how to submit your recording and waiver.

• Please consider recording your experience, strength, and hope and sending it in. Or bringing it up at your business meeting to offer the option to record the speakers. 

• We need to continue expanding the library so that people all over the world can hear voices they haven’t heard before.

• There are many places in the world that don’t have meetings, so providing speaker MP3s is very important. Also, many other fellowships have MP3s in circulation, but SLAA does not, which is why LA Intergroup created this library to help carry the message to the addict who is still suffering.

HOSPITALS & INSTITUTIONS

• There are currently two panels being offered:

  • Tarzana Treatment Center which includes two speakers of mixed genders

  • Seeking Integrity which includes one speaker who identifies as a man.

• We encourage each meeting to create an H&I liaison/service commitment. In order to make. the following announcement each week:

  • "Anyone interested in sharing their experience, strength, and hope on an H&I panel can speak to me after the meeting. Additionally, if anyone has suggestions for institutions that might welcome an SLAA panel, please let me know! Thank you for letting me be of service."

• Members may email our H&I chairs at

H&I stands for hospitals and institutions; We bring the message to people who don't have access to regular meetings.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

•  50th anniversary Web store - half price offers on FWS store. International Recovery Convention has weekend-long retreats in Ireland and Baltimore

  The May Intergroup meeting has been moved to May 17th because the regular date falls on Mother’s Day.If you have questions, you can email secretary@slaalosangeles.org.

• Kaiser Addiction Medicine (23621 Main St Carson, CA) and would like to know if anyone would like to start a SLAA meeting in our facility. There doesn't seem to be any SLAA meetings in this area. If you have someone who would like to start a meeting at our facility, please contact La Shaun Lawson at 310-513-6707. For rent, we ask for literature.
